May is Mental Health Awareness Month
The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) has events and activities throughout the month.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) has developed a series of events and resources aimed at promoting mental well-being and fostering a supportive community at UCSF. Registration is open for the following virtual events:
- Gratitude Hours with Dr. Jessica Allanson: Thursday, May 9 at 4 p.m. (Zoom registration) and Friday, May 10 at noon (Zoom registration)
- Meditation Hour with Dr. Ana Dolatabadi: Monday, May 13 at noon (Zoom registration)
- Healing Harp Lunch Break with Dr. Madrone Love and Alexis Lyon: Friday, May 17 at noon (Zoom registration) and Friday, May 24 at noon (Zoom registration)
- Putting Pen to Paper – a Journaling Hour for Reflection and Self-Expression with Dr. Nicolas Bob: Wednesday, May 29 at 4 p.m. (Zoom registration) and Friday, May 31 at noon (Zoom registration)
In addition, leaders and Wellness Champions are invited to share the following resources with their teams:
- Mental Health Bingo: Mental Health Bingo offers a lighthearted and enjoyable way to prioritize self-care and engage in activities that bring joy and fulfillment. Participants have the opportunity to explore various self-care practices, build resilience, and connect with others who share a common goal of prioritizing mental health.
- Wholesome Story Hour: Wholesome Story Hour, a unique and low-stress opportunity to foster a sense of community, connection, empathy, and humor within your teams. This initiative offers a powerful way to connect on a human level, build empathy, and inspire through the art of storytelling.
- Green Campaign: May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we're inviting you to make a meaningful statement by wearing green throughout the month! By donning the color of growth, renewal, and hope, you'll not only show your support for mental health awareness but also help spark important conversations and reduce stigma surrounding mental health challenges.
