Digital Thanks Transitioning to Oracle Celebrate

Digital Thanks Transitioning to Oracle Celebrate

The employee recognition program is moving from UCSF Recognize to Oracle in April 2026.

In an exciting step toward streamlining and enhancing its workplace tools, the employee recognition program will transition from UCSF Recognize to the Oracle Celebrate platform, set to launch in April 2026. The move aligns with UCSF’s ongoing commitment to standardizing processes and improving the employee experience across the enterprise and coincides with the launch of Project One on the Oracle platform.

Oracle Celebrate will serve as UCSF’s new digital recognition and appreciation tool offering a range of improvements designed to make it easier to celebrate colleagues’ contributions while aligning with UCSF’s values.

What’s new with Oracle Celebrate?

The transition to Oracle Celebrate brings several enhancements to UCSF’s recognition efforts:

  • Simplified colleague search: Thanks to integration with UCSF’s employee data system, Oracle Celebrate will make it easier and faster to locate colleagues when sending digital recognition or thanks.
  • Expanded audience reach: The platform broadens recognition opportunities, allowing digital appreciation to be shared across all UCSF audiences.
  • Customizable recognition options: Users will continue to enjoy a variety of image choices for digital cards and can now select multiple reasons to celebrate behaviors that reflect UCSF’s core values. We will continue to be able to support different missions by adding specialized images for digital cards.
  • Manager dashboards: Managers will benefit from a rollup dashboard allowing them to assess recognition activity within their teams, supporting performance reviews and fostering a culture of gratitude.
  • Data reporting: Oracle Celebrate will support activity tracking and provide recognition-related data in reports, giving managers a powerful tool for team insights.

Future Enhancements

As we continue to stabilize the new platform for enterprise use, we will continue to rollout new features, so stay tuned for more updates.  Future enhancements include:

  • Monthly Sweepstakes:  UCSF colleagues who send and receive digital thanks via Celebrate will automatically be entered into a monthly sweepstakes.  Sweepstakes winners will be notified and provided a link where they can choose a gift
  • Data reporting: Oracle Celebrate will support activity tracking and provide recognition-related data in reports, giving managers a powerful tool for team insights.
  • Service Milestone Notifications:  Since service data will exist in Oracle, the notification process for Service Milestones will transition to Oracle.  At that time, per recipient feedback (see below for more details), the Service Award gift program will transition to eGift cards through Tango.

Survey-informed updates

The move to Oracle Celebrate follows extensive feedback gathered from a survey sent to 1,500 high-volume users of the current UCSF Recognize platform. Based on their input, UCSF has made several updates to improve the recognition experience:

  • Refreshing recognition behaviors: Survey participants expressed a need to refresh the behaviors celebrated to better align with UCSF’s values. In Oracle Celebrate, users will find updated behaviors, including familiar ones, with the ability to select multiple reasons for recognition.
  • Monthly sweepstakes program: To address dissatisfaction with gift options, the program will offer an array of UCSF-branded items that reflect the contributions of both recipients and senders, making UCSF a great place to work.
  • Service milestone program: Responding to feedback about limited gift choices, UCSF will transition milestone gifts to eGift cards through Tango, giving recipients the freedom to choose from a variety of vendors.
