About
UCSF Staff Resource Days, in partnership with Sonic Connections, presents:
"Music for Cultivating Calm" is an immersive, music-based wellness workshop designed to support faculty and staff in balancing self-care with professional responsibilities. You’ll engage in experiential activities that highlight mindfulness, living in alignment with your values, and the transformative power of music as a tool for fostering resilience, well-being, and workplace effectiveness.
This session can be thought of as an interactive listening experience, incorporating guided exercises centered around instrumental music, reflective journaling, and open-ended discussions. Led by a trained facilitator, the program invites you to explore various aspects of your professional and personal well-being through thoughtful prompts and music-based insights.
Please note: No musical background is required to participate. This is not a music-making session, but a concert-like listening experience designed to inspire reflection and growth.
As a participant, you’ll receive a small notebook to capture your thoughts, insights, and reflections as we move through the workshop together. The session aims to foster a sense of connection and inclusion while offering research-backed strategies to navigate the complexities of academia and professional life.
Whether you prefer an interactive, collaborative experience or a more introspective, reflective approach, the workshop is designed to meet you where you are. You can choose to actively engage in discussions or simply sit back and let the music guide you toward new perspectives and practical tools for well-being and leadership.
