About
UCSF's annual holiday wellness challenge, Step It Up, runs November 17 - December 12, 2025.
Step It Up is an annual online wellness challenge that encourages the UCSF community to increase their physical wellness through walking and other physical activity. We’ve also incorporated more opportunities to earn points around your pillars of wellnessexternal site (opens in a new window). The more you do, the more points you get.
The 2025 Step It Up Challenge theme is:
Join the challenge by downloading the SnowWonder app to track your participation through this 4 week challenge. As you practice everyday fitness and healthy eating habits to feel your best, you’ll earn points in the form of inches of snow. As the snow points pile up, the challenge interface will become more vibrant, just like you. You’ll also have helpful resources, interesting articles, and an inspiring message board. Snow Wonder is the ideal way to increase energy and resilience while beating the winter blues. How it works
This year's challenge will focus on Being Active and Eating Healthily
Be Active
Earn 3 inch of snow for recording at least 6000 steps/movement — using a tracking device or the Step Converter tool to log activity minutes as steps. Log steps manually or connect an activity tracker on your Settings page. For activities that cannot be tracked with a standard device, such as swimming, rowing, domestic tasks, or gardening, the step converter provides a means to manually input and quantify your physical exertion.
