In this immersive sound healing session, Selena Chan, DO, and Ganiv Kahlon, BSN, RN, guide participants in exploring the sense of sound through Tibetan singing bowls and breath-centered listening. Drawing from Tibetan and South Asian healing traditions, the session highlights how sound regulates the nervous system and supports emotional balance. Participants will also learn how sound frequencies align with the chakras—seven energy centers in the body connected to organ systems to support mind-body wellbeing.
This event is part of 🌿 Rooted in 8 Senses—an experiential series exploring time-honored healing traditions from AANHPI communities. The series is co-created by AANHPI clinicians, faculty, and trainees from the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health. Sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell help us engage with the world around us. Many Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) healing traditions also recognize three additional senses—balance, resourcefulness, and wholeness—as essential for attuning to community, nature, and whole-person well-being.
